21 Jan Aerial Photos of a South Jersey Morning
This past weekend I had the opportunity to fly from Miller Air Park in Bayville, NJ to Sussex County Airport in Georgetown, DE. Bringing with me a wide-angle lens in the small Cessna, I was able to capture some amazing pictures of the incredible scenery.
That morning happened to be one of the coldest of the season. If you look closely at some of the photos, you can see much of South Jersey’s frozen landscape — from the Barnegat Bay, to the wetlands and its marshes, from cranberry bogs to lakes. The view from above makes winter down below look like a thing of beauty.
On the way to Delaware, points of interest we had flown by were the Pine Barrens, Bamber Lake, Hammonton, Millville, Cape May, and Lewes, DE. During the return flight, we had flown up the Jersey Shore coastline passing over Ocean City, Atlantic City, the Long Beach Island Causeway, and seeing the Oyster Creek Power Plant in a distance.
